Nottinghill!

What? The Notting Hill Bookshop

Where? 13 Blenheim Cres, Notting Hill, London W11 2EE.

Type? Independent Bookstore

Highlight: Children’s Books

Okay okay, so if you’re thinking about the sappy cheesy rom com movie with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant than yes you are correct into thinking this bookstore is one and the same. Yup I actually visited the real life bookstore where THAT scene was shot! Though the store inside is not arranged the same way , it still has that “friendly local bookstore feel to it” as in the movie.

Though it was challenging to get a picturesque pic of the storefront, mainly because the hoard of people that are constantly on the outside trying to take a pic. Inside is not that different people are endlessly taking photographs or browsing through; it’s pretty clear that no one actually buys something here and that the only bookworms are seen in the more deeper shelves at the back of the store or are the ones who are actually holding a book and reading it.

Tried my best for that store front pic lol
Look out for this plaque so you know you’re at the right place!

They have great mini sets of popular books or little gifts that you can snag on a budget, plus they have their own store merchandise with quotes from the movie on them. Super cute! What bought my attention is how lovely the display for the children’s section is, they have a wide range of books catered towards kids that are not only entertaining but educational and fun too. If you bought me here when I was seven I would’ve squealed.

The Children section

Books/Stuff Bought: I managed to snag the 3 set of V.E.Schwab’s “A Darker Shade of Magic” series (which btw I cannot recommend enough that series is amazing; one of my fav YA series). The store clerk was so excited that finally someone bought a full set series (bless him I know the joy), and he was so sweet he actually gave me a discount because of the amount of stuff I bought. We stan bookish clerks who give discounts.

Being the tote lover I am, of course I just had to buy one of their light canvas bags with the shop name imprinted in dark blue. Since I am also obsessed with mugs (seriously I have a problem aghhh). I got one with the pic of the storefront painted around the mug (it looks so gorgeous and is probably one of the cutest things you can get for a fellow bookworm or a fan of the movie!)

Availability Online: Yes! They have an online shop and a form for special requests, you can even get signed copies of certain books and the store merchandise is also available (yup go order that mug!) Click here for the site.

What do you think? Have you ever been to The Notting Hill Bookshop?
