It’s been weeks since Olivia Rodrigo dropped her iconic debut album SOUR, and yes I still listen to it. And yes I’m not 17 I’m a twenty something year old (but who’s counting?). The ones that stick with me are Deja Vu, Happier, and Jealousy, Jealousy. Oh also Brutal is so good.
I’ve seen the original tag done by Ashmita @ The Fictional Journal and I loved it! So here is my version of the SOUR Booktag.

SOUR Book Tag
BRUTAL — a book with a lot of teenage angst

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
Ya’ll know a lot of the best angst exist in YA fantasy, and I can’t forget the growing tension and excitement that built between Lazlo Strange and Sarai. I mean they didn’t even meet each other in the flesh at the beginning, just flashes of dreams that got too short. Yup drove me mad but made me really invested in the story!
TRAITOR — a book that broke your heart, but you still keep going back to

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
For everyone that has read this book, I don’t think you need further clarification 😭 I’ve reread the book but I never make it to the ending..I just can’t.
DRIVER’S LICENSE — a book that helped you grow/ become who you are today

The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan
I’ll never forget this series and to see it’s still getting hype is so deserving. It really ignited my love of lore, mythology, and history.
1 STEP BACK, 3 STEPS FORWARD — a book which was slow paced, but so addictive that you just couldn’t stop reading it

Furyborn by Claire Legrand
This was one of the hardest book to get into, and I don’t entirely love the trilogy but I can’t deny that it’s very addictive and hard to put down once you get into the story.
DEJA VU — a book that makes you nostalgic

Goosebumps by R.L. Stine
These are the books that got me into reading, they’re such a classic and have this creepy spooky vibes to them. It’s so addictive and fun.
GOOD 4 U — a book you almost dnf-ed but it became your favorite

1984 by George Orwell
I read 1984 in high school and thought it was super boring but I read it back again two years ago and I loved it. Orwell is a genius.
ENOUGH FOR YOU — a book that lived up to your incredibly high expectations.

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
I am beyond happy to say that Rule of Wolves have met those high expectations, it was such a satisfying ending and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
HAPPIER — a book/series which cause a book hangover

Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas
This book destroyed me. I was dying till Kingdom of Ash came out, and the tears that flowed after that oufff…pretty hard.
JEALOUSY, JEALOUSY — a world you would sell your books to be a part of

Harry Potter by J.K Rowling
Hogwarts, it’s always going to be Hogwarts.
FAVORITE CRIME — a favorite series, but a really disappointing last book

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
This book wasn’t disappointing but I did have higher expectations especially after the brilliant second book The Wicked King, I just wished that last book had the same blaze and spark.
HOPE UR OK — a book that healed you/ your comfort book

Last Chance by Sarah Dessen
Always puts a smile on my face, it’s so heartfelt and cheesy but cozy.
Thanks for reading! Did you listen to SOUR? What are your favorite songs?
I love the song ‘good 4 u’ 😀

I completely agree with the Hogwarts thing – I’d give up my books in a heartbeat if it meant I could attend! And Crooked Kingdom 😭😭😭

Don’t know about giving up my books but I’m pretty sure I won’t read as much fantasy when I’m too busy living it 😂😩
I’m still mad about Crooked Kingdom 😭💔💔
