2020 is almost over!

With that we’ll be ending the year with my last TTT of 2020, and what better TTT to end with than sharing with you all my favorite books of 2020.

My Fav Books of 2020

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang

I’m in the middle of reading the last book of the series The Burning God, and I’m swept away by the dark yet engrossing landscape Kuang has visualized for us. Kuang is also one of my favorite discovered authors this year!

IIluminae Series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Easily the most unique series I’ve ever read in terms of writing and format. This is such a polarizing book because of that, and to me the gamble was worth it. I loved this series!

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Arguably repetitive at some points however you can’t deny that Schwab’s has one of the most beautiful lyrical writing. I was swept away with the characters and ambiance she has written in the book. If you loved Addie La Rue, check my original playlist inspired by it 😊

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

This is the book that got me out of a reading slump. It’s witty sarcastic dialogue mixed in with plot twisting murders has made this such a delightful read! Book 2 is set to release in 2021 and I can’t wait!

Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade

One of the best romance novels I’ve ever read!

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

Another winner due to it’s writing style and format. I was completely engrossed in the story that I practically finished the book in almost a day.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

My longest book turned out to be my favorite classic. I’m so annoyed I haven’t read Alexandre Dumas’s books sooner, his excitement pours into his writing. And you can’t help but get swept up by all the dramatics and adventure!

Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe

My first webtoon ever, and I’m very happy with the choice because it’s an amazing modern retelling of Hades and Persephone. And the art style? Stunning!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

One of the most impactful reads this year, Thomas writes an agonizing coming of age fiction novel that is not so far from real life. A must read for sure.

The Serpent King by Jeff Zetner

This book just made my heart weep. It’s such a profound coming of age novel that’s uplifting as much as it is saddening. If you liked Eliza and Her Monsters, you’ll love this one.

  11. I also really enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo – it’s really gripping for a classic and I felt such a sense of achievement when I finished it! I really want to read The Hate U Give and The Thursday Murder Club as well so I’m very glad they made it onto your list 📚❤️ X x x
