TTT | Top 10 Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time

Can I be frank? I’m not really a fan of re reading books, there is just this magic that happens with reading a book for the first time that can never be replicated again. However are there books that I wish I could reread for the first time? You bet!

So for this week’s TTT I’ll be listing my top books that I wish I could reread again for the first time.

Update! You may notice now an extra button. I am happy to say that I’m a Blackwell’s affiliate thus you can buy the book directly from a click of a button at no extra cost and your wee little book blogger gets a wee commission 😊 They ship worldwide too!

TTT is a fun bookish weekly meme created by theartsyreadergirl where you list your top 10s based on a different theme each week. I’ll link up her TTT if you would like to participate or know more.

Top 10 Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

It is the series that reignited my love for YA fantasy again and it’s a series I still think about from time to time because I’ve grown so attached to the world and characters in it.

Anything Shakespeare

My first reading experience with Shakespeare was not a good one. I was in eighth grade and I felt my eyes bleeding while we were forced to read endless and endless text that was just a complete bore. So now that I’ve read a couple of classics I would want to give Shakespeare another chance.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I read this as part of a book club and I was instantly hooked. I wish I could experience all of the rush and agonizing plot twists again.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

The beauty and overwhelming sensation of enchantment I felt when reading this, especially since I consider Lazlo Strange my fictional spirit animal. I feel like he’s my twin brother because we’re so alike its scary.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

This was a heartbreaking yet beautiful story of survival and the grit of the human spirit, I know I can never read this one again like the first time because I know too much 🙁

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

This is one I would like to reread because I felt the time that I read it was not the best. I think if given the chance to erase my memory and read it again I would maybe adore it instead of just “like” it.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

As much agony the second book gave me in the end, I love this series with all my heart. It is absolutely fantastic, brilliant, and unparalleled. *Sigh I would love to get introduced to all of the characters again.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

Similar to the The Book Thief, I thought this book was pretty average (at times dragging), so if there was a chance to erase my memory of it too, I would do it!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgestern

I envy anyone who’s reading this for the first time because there is no way to match the emotions I felt while reading this for the very first time. Let’s just say they’re very lucky 😭 😩

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Of course V.E. Schwab is in this list! I devoured this series this past summer and I would gladly do it again if I could un-remember the plunging plot twists…

Thanks for reading! Are there any books you wish you could read for the first time? Are you a fan of re reading books generally?

If you wrote a TTT, link up your post below. I would love to check them out!
