The Questions

What are you currently reading?

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

What’s your favorite ‘ can’t leave the house’ activity?

Netflix, baking, board games (in no specific order)

A Book You’ve Been Meaning to Read Forever

Furyborn by Claire Legrand

I heard loads of praise for this series, and I had this on my shelf for 1+ years. It’s about time I started with this one.

An intimidating book on your TBR

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

I’m such a scaredy cat for not wanting to read the third book, but with how The Wicked King ended (I’m having heart palpitations just thinking about it) I’m kind of scared. And the mixed reviews is NOT helping.

Top 3 Priority Books on My TBR

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir – Permanent Record by Mary H.K Choi – Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen McManus

I’m about to start Two Can Keep a Secret today, and An Ember in the Ashes is part of @perksofbeingnoura’s book club “The Immortal Bibliophiles” for our Steptember read. Permanent Record is one read I’m now hesitant to read especially after hearing so many negative reviews of this one. I can’t help it though I’m a sucker for contemporary YA romance fic.

Recommend a Short Book

The Prophet by Khalil Gibran – Talking to My Daughter by Yanis Varoufakis

Couldn’t decide which one to rec since they’re both good and yet vastly different; one is a poetry fic read and the other is a non fic philosophy read.

Recommend a Long Book

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

This was the longest book on my TBR and I’m so glad I finally got around to reading it this year. It’s definitely one of my favorite books of all time, its suspense and chilling with just the right amount of mysticism.

Something You’d Love to Do While Stuck at Home

It’s been a while since I did some collage art, and I really am thinking of taking up that again but it’s been a hassle being creative during these times if I’m being honest.

During my last year of uni, I’ve actually dotted down some sporadic ideas about this fictional fantasy world in my head and writing has been my escape during my boring classes. I think I’ll be picking up my pen again and see where this goes…

What Do You Plan on Reading Next?

Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen McManus

Wanna try and finish this before Sept, so I can get started with An Ember in the Ashes!

I tag the following bloggers 😊✨

▪️ Sammie @ The Bookwyrm’s Den

▪️Lucy @ Sunstar Books

▪️Vee Reading

▪️Val @ Behind That Story

▪️Shruti @ Damsel In The Bookland

I hope you guys enjoyed this! And I hope you’re still safe and healthy during these troubling times, and I know this sounds repetitive and annoying but trust me it will get better and we as a human race will come out stronger because of this.

Side note to other fellow 2020 graduates: Please don’t pressure yourself on getting a job or an internship when you’re in a pandemic and most industries are on hold, most businesses are in jeopardy, and whole governments don’t even have a full fledged plan. I lost my internship in a huge multinational company due to COVID and yeah it sucks but thankfully I’ve got countless other blessings to be grateful for. So take a deep breath, and know you’ll be okay ❤️

As always subscribe or follow to not miss anything!
